We all hold on to something. Especially during times of stress.
- Linus held on to his blanket.
- Cinderella, to her dream.
- Snow White, to hope.
Those things are all positive. Even helpful. Perhaps. But we can also hold on to negative things.
- Hurt. Fear.
- Defensiveness.
- The need to be right.
- Pride. Self-righteousness.
- Anger. Bitterness. Resentment.
We learn that stuff from the World.
Let’s face it, if you haven’t yet figured out how much your Creator loves you, holding on to defensiveness is your best strategy for survival.
But if you want to live a full life – the one that your Creator has planned for you – you’ll need to unlearn that kind of stuff & allow Him to replace it with Something Better to hold on to: His Love.
The Lord is my strength & my shield;
my heart trusts in Him, & He helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
& with my song I praise Him. Psalm 28:7Trust in the Lord with all your heart
& lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to Him,
& He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
