The Power of Your Thoughts
Years ago I heard a story about a prisoner of war. Locked up in solitary confinement, he used his memory to play an imaginary 18 holes of golf on his favorite course back home each and every day. Every bit of it great detail, including driving to and from the country club. When he was finally released, his muscles had wasted away from lack of use. Yet he was able to shoot the best round of golf he’d every played.
Amazing.
Today is Your Dress Rehearsal
Don’t whine and complain – or imagine ultimate failure – while you’re waiting for Your Dream to come true. That will only produce more whining and complaining. And even ultimate failure. Because you create what you focus your thoughts upon, remember?
Instead, create your own Dress Rehearsal: the final rehearsal of a live show, in which everything is done as it would be in a real performance.
Just imagine yourself already there!
Picture those scenes. Play them out in great detail.
- What will you be wearing?
- Who else will be there?
- What will you be saying?
- What will you be doing?
- How will it all feel?
And learn to abide in Anticipatory Joy!
