Who’s your master? We are creatures, and we are created to serve. So who’s it gonna be for you? Joshua presented your choices this way:
“Now fear The Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve The Lord. But if serving The Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the The Lord.” (Joshua 24:14-15)
So Whom are you choosing to believe?
I remember the day – 18 months ago, give or take – when I received some distressing news, and I got angry. Really, really angry. In fact, I don’t know when I’ve been angrier.
Preliminary bottom line: I was angry at the enemy for harrassing Christian men and women who love one another, and I was more than ready to take him on … single-handedly!
I cried out to the Lord, “Just let me at him!”
The Lord responded with a smile … and a chuckle, too, I think.
Then He reminded me of His Great and Perfect Love.
“You wanna fight the enemy?
Agree with Me. I’ve got you covered.”
Yes, I’m covered by the Precious Blood of Jesus, and so are you. Jesus chose to die for our sins. Then He descended into Hell and took Captivity captive. He won our victory on the Cross.
